Anna Silk is a Fredericton native, the daughter Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had many skills, such as being able to act, direct production, create plays as well as teach and serve as director of drama at St. Thomas University. Anna Silk's father is British and her mother was an Turkish Cypriot English expat. Anna Silk remembers her mother watching work at play rehearsals. In her early years, Anna appeared in several commercials. Anna relocated to Toronto in the fall of 1999 in order to continue her acting career. After that, she settled in Los Angeles (California) over the following decade. Anna came across Seth Cooperman in 2007 at an acting workshop in Los Angeles, and they became engaged in 2009.
