Anna Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington. She began her acting career as Flora McGrath in her character in the romance film The Piano. Paquin played Frankie Addams as a child in the 1996 television film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 film Amistad. She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed the Polexia Aphrodisa girl on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
